I think it looks too big when you carry it on your shoulder and under your arm, but if you just sling it on your forearm, like the 3rd pic, it's fine.

I am going thru the same thing with my Large Argent Betty. I love it, but I would way rather have a Medium... but they are impossible to find!

I BIG bags! I love it and I do not think it is too big, in general or on you. I love big bags because they can hold it all, but then they still look so freakin' cute when they are not stuffed and look slouchy. There is nothing worse than a jam-packed little purse.
