Hi ladies,

I’m considering getting the Spring-Summer act II “Sand by the sea” PVC bag with detachable pearl strap (photo attached, from IG) and would love to hear your thoughts on this bag, especially from those who do own one.

I’ll be honest in saying that I’m hesitant mostly because of the material, considering that the price for this bag is pretty much the same for a non-classic flap in leather. I’m also concerned that the PVC might discolour/yellow over time.

I do love the style, look and versatility of the bag though so that’s why I keep coming back to it. I usually choose “safe” bags (neutral, practical use) so would love to add something exciting and different to my collection. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated as there js only one left and I need to make a decision fairly quickly. TIA!

If you live in a hot climate I wouldn’t. The PVC gets softer when it heats up. It cools off though, but it can be annoying.

I would worry about it yellowing and/or getting cloudy over time which I know some PVC does but not sure of Chanel specifically.

Yes that’s what I think as well. I live in Sydney so it does get pretty hot in summer but I suppose not as bad as somewhere tropical

Thank you everyone for your advice! I have made up my mind and purchased the bag [emoji5]. I have missed the chance of owning several bags that I love (but could not justify the purchase due to price vs worth/ practicality) in the past so I figured why not be adventurous this time[emoji1]. Will share pics in the April purchase thread when I unbox later this week [emoji7]

Hi Sandbag,
So do you have the 2007 clear PVC Chanel "Naked Flap?" If so--I envy you! I have looking for a used one since I was not so lucky to get one in 2007. The used ones seem to have issues with the plastic and leather trim splitting where the flap folds over on the top corners of the bag. Do you have that problem?

Hello, would you kindly share any care tips? I just got the same bag and wondering how to clean it/ care overall to prevent yellowing and cloudiness in the future. One more question- do you see any leaking sand?

I had the bag and sold it... the plastic really scratches easily and the inside where the sand is got slowly “dusted” or “foggy” if u can imagine what I mean:P
