Hello jewelry lovers!
Need your expert help, I know you all love and adore sparkles!

I used to think that longer necklaces slimmed the frame, creating a longer line.

Now when I try them on, I love them with certain knits ( crew neck fitted sweater), but mostly they look bad!

I have big boobs, not a small frame. By body is proportioned, but very busty.
I think they look chic on smaller frames.

What is funny, years ago I bought a 10 motif VCA Alhambra necklace and my sa said I should return it as it was too round for me, saying I needed longer 20 motif or magic necklace .
Now I feel the opposite. I think 20 inches is perfect, drawing the eye up around my face.

Would love all opinions, pics are a plus! TIA!:graucho:

I think it depends on the outfit & the thickness of the necklace. For instance a long metal chain with an interesting pendant at the base will have a different look than a long necklace with chunky beads all the way through. And something like a thick sweater vs a thin tunic can also change how your jewelry compliments (or does not compliment!) the rest of your look

So in short don't give up on long necklaces, maybe either try a different shaped / textured necklace or switch your top

I have big boobs:graucho:
...And that's a bad thing? LOL!
I think it depends on a lot of things. A heavier necklace will fall between the boobs...maybe with a medallion to keep it centered. A lighter style may fly around the boobs. KWIM?
At the end of the day, it's what looks good and what's comfortable!
I like the 20" length, looks good on most people!

I think it depends on on the overall look/style, but I see what you're saying.

I am at the other end of the spectrum and I think the mid-length looks frumpy and uninspired on my tall, thin frame. I think the long lengths work with my body type. (needing some added interest there.)

maybe longer lengths on a well endowed chest is sort of 'gilding the lily' so to speak and framing the face is more flattering.
either way, sounds like you have what works for you!

ITA with this. Also, what you are wearing on top also helps with positioning. If you have a button down with a collar, you can put the long necklace inside the collar against your neck and it will hang straighter. Or if you are layering with a cardi, the cardi can shove the necklace back into place, avoiding the around the boob situation.
