I saw these on the Three Graces site, and am really intrigued by the vintage look: http://www.georgianjewelry.com/items/show/14012-art-deco-diamond-studs-each-over-1-carat

I have another pair of studs from Brian Gavin, though, which are ideal cut and VS1, and wonder if I will notice a huge difference in the sparkliness of these. It's also listed as having "one diamond with some edge (girdle) wear under a prong only visible with magnification."

Anyone have thoughts on this? I don't know much about judging vintage finds like these. TIA!

Thanks for the responses, ladies! Anyone have an idea as far as how sparkly they will wind up looking? I understand that with the different cut, light will pass through them differently, but I worry they would look "dull" compared to the round brilliants I have :-/ I've never seen old mine cuts IRL.

Mine are very sparkly but then I do like the old cuts :smile1:

Old mine cuts are usually beautiful and very brilliant and sparkly. At least that's what I've seen. I have a vintage e-ring and its so sparkly and brilliant that it almost looks fake. I'm pretty sure if it was bigger people would think it was fake. Not sure if mine is old mine cut or not, though, but it is vintage.
