Been thinking about the galliera as the next big purchase but I'm a bit bothered by the gold plate. I feel like it's so bold and makes the bag really flashy. What do you think? I know the mono pattern is bold as it is so I feel like the plate is too much. But I love the shape and style. Would love your opinions! Also, is the lining suede or a lightweight fabric? Thanks!

I love the bag. I do not think it is flashy at all - just more modern than some of the other shoulder bags. I often wear the plate next to my body so not everyone can see it when I am afraid of my a little blingy.
I don't think it's flashy. Plus as others have mentioned you can have the plate beside your body if you don't want to draw attention to it. It's great style bag and one definately worth getting...

It's not flashy but it is a head turner, for sure! The gold plate barely even shows as my arms covers it up. You could always wear the plate towards your body.
I love the galliera, although I don't have one... holding out for the nautical canvas le coming out for Cruise '09. But the bag is killer.
