I’ve owned this bag for a 3-4 months now. I’m very careful with it. It’s not a bag that I would leave on the floor. I just noticed today that two of the corners are starting to show wear/rips. This is my first Gucci. I’m normally a LV girl. I have many LV canvas bags and have never had corner wear like this. Even in some of my vintage pieces. Are Gucci bags just bad in quality? Can this be fixed?

Yes, will be taking it in to have them take a look at it. I was just wondering if anyone else has this issue. I have a few LV vintage pieces and none of them have this issue.

I’ve had the issue with older lv pieces with corners. It didn’t happen in a few months though although many have had the issue with the graceful after a very short time. Keep us posted.

I was disappointed with my Ophelia too because of the wear in the leather (I have the rectangular version). This wear you are showing to me looks unavoidable because of the bag construction, and I think it would also happen to LV coated canvas, but LV would probably avoid such a construction or pipe it. Like the Pochette Métis, is all canvas at the bottom but piped for protection. Whereas the way the canvas is folded in the Ophidia invites damage.

I love Gucci but I have to say some of their bags are crap quality when compared to other luxury brands.

Ophelia is a cheap bag.
I have the suede version and ended up keeping it because I love the design but the quality is really disappointing.
Their designs are beautiful and interesting. I feel that LV has strayed soooo far from its roots, so I gave this bag a try. I hope by cheap you don’t mean it’s price tag. Yes, it’s not a 3k bag, but anything over 1k should have a minimum quality standard.

I agree with you so I am a bit hesitant to take it in to Gucci for them to tell me that this is unavoidable. I don’t see how this can be fixed. I just don’t want it to get worse. Thanks for pointing that out. Thinking back, all the canvas LVs, even the vintage ones, do have piping or leather bottoms.. like the alma and speedy.

Yikes, I’ve been eyeing this bag for a while and somehow never noticed the corners were folded. I like the LV Graceful but have been avoiding that one too bc of the corners.

Yes, by cheap I didn’t mean cost-wise. I just mean the materials aren’t the best quality or most durable.

It’s a pity because the designs really are beautiful.

Folded corners in canvas are a big problem, it would wear almost inmediately. Not only in Gucci but in LV also... I bought the Sperone backpack from Louis Vuitton and at three months old, I noticed the wear in all 4 corners. It was a frustating experience. The Boutique told me that this was normal wear and tear... at three months???!!!!. so stay away from folded corners.

Oh wow I had my eye on this for a while now and was sure it would be my next purchase. So unfortunate that happened so quickly. Im very picky about how my bags look and Im also not one to baby my bags too much. I guess I will have to pass on this beauty!
