Onyx or malachite pendant

I’m looking to purchase my first piece and am deciding between the onyx and malachite pendant. I love the green of the malachite and it feels more special, but I liked the onyx more on me in person.

Which do you prefer?

Also, if you like the idea of the malachite but weren't 100% on the color of this one on you, maybe you could watch for a slightly different one in the future? The shades of green and striations vary a bit from stone to stone.

I find onyx rather plain and it screams "VCA" too much for my taste. Malachite all the way. Plus, onyx seems to be more common.

I actually prefer the malachite! That particular one looks really pretty too.

I’m not usually one to say to go for the malachite because of how delicate the stone is, but on a necklace you would be fine!

I do think the onyx looks good on you but could also be in part because of the black shirt. Have you tried both on wearing a different color?

Malachite. The onyx looks like black enamel, but the striations on malachite make it look more interesting. No two pieces will look exactly the same due to the natural variation in color of the stone. Your choice.

i like them equally on you but will vote for onyx for pendant as it’s much more carefree to wear. You can get malachite in VA earrings as it’s easier to maintain & give off more of a wow factor

I have the onyx vintage alhambra and the malachite in the magic size. I wear the onyx everywhere including dressy situations and even to the gym. The malachite is special and I am obsessed with it but the stone is not even close to being as versatile.

Since it’s a pendant and you love it, get the malachite, the one you love more. malachite is notoriously delicate but on a pendant it’s pretty safe as long as you don’t layer or get wet.
