I ordered a scarf on the Hermes website (US), and it arrived without the laminated paper tag. It was also folded/creased in an atypical way. Would this be a concern to you? I’m not usually particular about these things, but this seemed strange.

No I wouldn’t be concerned about that personally. My SA has ordered scarves for me from the website before and they have come without the tag.

I have received scarves from the U.S. website without the laminated tag as well, although they do have the tags most of the time. If the scarf is pristine and you love it, then keep and enjoy!

I ordered a scarf from H.com recently and it arrived without a laminated tag as well. The scarf otherwise looked fine so I decided to keep it. This is the first time I recall having a scarf delivered without a tag.

I don't know about other counties but when I buy in (or from) France they always have their tags taken off.

@Crapples unless it is stated in Hermes' 'terms and conditions' h.com US for returns a customer must have/leave the tags attached, they should not be able to question whether or not the tags are attached as a gauge of whether the scarf is unworn/sellable condition.

Whether the scarf is tagged or not, the actual scarf should be perfect, and the tag can neither help with that guarantee (in a way it could lull us into a false sense of security - silk and cashmeres should be checked over) nor does a tag prove it's fresh from the factory.

Generally, it's a good idea to make sure purchases are opened ASAP after signing, and take pics, especially if you find anything untoward (just as we would more likely do for a third party delivery). Then immediately email or phone CS. If you need to return anything, you can use your comms and timestamped pics to demonstrate it arrived in 'X' condition.

If I was keeping the scarf anyway, I would 100% not care but I do like the paper tags for sticking to my boxes (not that I keep current rotation scarves in boxes). Once scarves are put away, boxes are then just easier to file.
