I was recently shopping at a department store and the sales lady mentioned that the quality of clothes sold in store vs online is not the same ; the items sold online ( even those directly from the brand ) are of a lower quality.
I was really surprised since I never heard of this. Is this factual or was she trying to make more in store sales?

I think she was trying to make more in sales.

Such a strange thing to say!

It was weird but I wasn't sure if this is something I don't know or if it's nonsense to make sales .... the example she gave was Ralph Lauren - according to her the stuff in their store and in department stores is on a higher quality level than what you buy on Ralph Lauren's own website.
I know outlets can vary with quality levels but this was weird to me.

I felt this way a long time ago (two decades?) based on personal experience. Online ordering was much more rare then, so maybe it was true at some point? Or maybe it was all in my head because I couldn’t physically look over an item before buying? I’m pretty picky. Now I don’t notice a difference.

This is in fact correct.

Now help the SA reach her sales targets.
:giggle:
But in all seriousness this is most definitely not true at least for the brands I distribute. :giggle:

The thing is, as my husband reminded me , we had already bought stuff from this Sa. So that's even stranger because she had already made a sale.
Maybe she wanted future sales with her rather than online? Idk
