so I was searching on ebay for cabochon gemstone rings and I came upon a gorgeous "vintage" cabochon moonstone ring. I liked it because of the style. 6 carat green moonstone, claw prongs etc... so I bought it.

I then enlarged the photos and thought i recognized the stamp on the side of the ring.... POMELLATO:yahoo: i bough this ring for 260 pounds ($411.00 CDN)

anyone have any idea how much it retails for?

btw. its still on the Pomellato website here:http://www.pomellato.it/#/en/jewellery_search its under "veleno" towards the bottom.

I don't know the answer ... but I was wondering whether the eBay seller knew what s/he was selling! I don't know Pomellato but you do, and you found a gem ... lady luck was smiling on you hey! Congratulations!

hi claypot! well they didnt list it as pomellato but the logo and signatures were all visible. while I was asking the seller questions I asked what the markings said on the side of the ring. the one seller (a gentleman) msged me back and said all he could read was 750 aka 18k gold. then when I won the ring the other seller (a lady) emailed me and asked me if I just liked the ring or if I knew it was Pomellato? so she confirmed my suspicions! :D

I tried looking for you to see if any vendors were selling them online at retail. It seems the line came out in 2006 (or at least that's where the articles reviewing the rings were dated to).

I came across someone's blog that in 2009, their friend had bought the veleno ring at a London boutique for 1500 pounds (a purple stoned one). The blogger wrote that the price is lower than prices in Paris or Singapore! That's over 2k USD!! (not sure what the conversion rate was in 2009, but I'd say it hasn't changed that much since then!) If you want a link to the blog, I am not sure if I can post it here? I can PM it to you! :D Congrats again! What an awesome find!

I thin I saw that blog, it was amethyst i believe. I knew Pomellato was pricey, so I'm assuming (just guestimating :D) that the veleno ring which is 6 carats is probably at least 4k? oh i hope someone knows the retail!

I split my time between NYC and Cleveland, but you're in luck! I'll be back in NYC on Tuesday, I'll stop in for you if you don't find out before then! :p

Yes, I couldn't find out the prize of the ring, but I am 100% sure you got a really great deal there. I really have to go into the Pomellato store here next time I am shopping, I have always admired there windows but never went into the store (maybe to not drool over the nudo ring I have been admiring, hehe). Why don't you send them an email asking for the price or phone them?
Hope we get pics when it arrives!!!

I know i got a deal, but i'm also very curious to know the retail price. if I have time tonight maybe I will call. (i'm in the middle of moving right now so things are chaotic)
