Get a speedy, its extremely functional. I know what you mean though about not finding anything when you're actually given the ok. I went to Saks two weeks ago thinking about getting the Damier speedy and something small and instead got a Miu Miu. lol, I think once you can get something (after spending weeks/months obsessing over it) you don't want it anymore
