Omega Timepiece - For my hubby :)

Hi Everyone!
My hubby's birthday is coming up and was wondering if you could help me find a deal on Omegas. I've always loved them, and have wanted one forever, so does my hubby... and I would really love to surprise him with a beautiful piece :-)

That being said, I haven't pinned it down to a specific model yet, but I am looking at the speedmaster collection for him.

Where I would really need help is how I can score a good deal or discount on these pieces. Any tips? Which stores to go to, how to negotiate, and perhaps any online retailers you would recommend.

TIA!

Several years ago, Omega gave good discount, up to 20% but now they are competing with Rolex, prices are quite stiff and discount is only 5% from Authorised dealers. Not sure if boutiques give a discount. Also check out the Seamaster range.

I dealt with George at Govberg Jewelers in PA and they are great folks. Got discount from them too. Tell him Cathy referred you. Got a men's JLC Master Control from him.

http://feldmarwatch.com/staff/ They carry Omega. Try Lorel Monroy, or Sol Meller himself (owner). I bought my Omega from them a couple years ago. Excellent transaction. I got 18 to 20% off, shipped from CA with no sales tax.

Boutique does not give discount. The only other incentive is you can apply for their free financing. The advantage with boutique is you see all the models there and can try them on. Most authorized dealers do not have all models for you to try on. Omega Boutique usually gives you some gifts with purchase like an Omega book, a pen, cap, etc.

Both Govberg and Feldmar carry Omega. The Jaeger LeCoultre was discounted about 18%, but discount is dependent upon model. Omega was discounted by Feldmar too also dependent on model.

Maybe you would like to look up www.chrono24.com
This is a very reliable online source for luxury watches where different dealers and or private sellers have their watches displayed.
Good luck - Omega is a great choice and especially the Speedmaster is amazing! I´m going to buy my hubby to be one as soon as I can!

You can either buy from O boutique, authorized dealers like Govberg or Feldmar (authorized dealers list can be looked up at omegawatches.com) or buy from gray market dealers. More than likely gray market dealers will give you better discount. Just be aware that you research carefully regarding this on the internet. Some sellers on chrono24.com are not Omega authorized dealers. I've read that some gray dealers remove the serial numbers on the watch. They also offer warranty from them only. If you have issue during warranty period, their shop will repair/adjust your watch rather than sending it to Omega.

As with all expensive luxury watches you should never buy one without ORIGINAL papers! Then it doesn´t matter if it´s a private person or a dealer - even if he´s not certified. House guarantee or authenticity is next to nothing. The watch could be stolen, or in the worst case be a fake one. But with papers from a serious seller, I think you are on the safe side.I also always google potential dealers first, to see if there is any reputation in the internet. That really helps sometimes.
Of course I would always prefer buying a watch from a certified dealer, but sometimes others do have great deals to, especially if your budget is limited =). But it always depends on how familiar you are with the whole watch thing - you really should know what you are doing or at least have someone who does.
