Omega Seamaster vs Chanel J12J12

Hi there, my husband is getting me a watch as a push present. I have narrowed it down to two. Could I get your thoughts on either the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-axial 34mm or the Chanel J12 38mm? I plan to use it as a close to everyday watch while on maternity leave.

For reference, I already have a Ball Engineer and Zenith Star.

Omega if you want a definite classic. Chanel if you want Parisienne fashion. Both are perfect but only you will know when you try each watch on your wrist.

Hi everyone, thanks for your thoughts so far. I just realised that I posted the wrong pic of the seamaster. Sorry, baby brains. It's the same model but with diamonds on the bezel. Is it too bling? That's one of the reason I'm opting for a leather band instead of the steel.

So far, more votes for the omega. Keep them coming.

I've tried on the Chanel twice and the omega in steel once. I'll need to go back to omega again this week to have a look. Hopefully, I don't see the same SA at the omega flagship store. She seemed somewhat dissatisfied that I couldn't make up my mind.

I was recommended to them for new and pre-owned Omega. I had some email correspondence; however once I mentioned that I wasn't in a rush and wouldn't be in a purchasing position until January I never heard back.

Without offending anyone, when buying a watch, i'd go for brands that's main focus is for watches. Mont blanc are known for pens, chanel for bags, and nike for sneakers. Designer watches aren't the same vs a brand that's main products are watches.

Thanks everyone for your opinions. As much as I like the Chanel J12, I have decided to go with the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150 M Omega Co-Axial 34 mm.

I want the one with the leather strap but they don't have it in any of the stores where I'm in, they only have the steel bracelet. So I got my friend to get it overseas for me. She just got it yesterday and it'll arrive in a few weeks. Can't wait. I'll upload some modelling pics when I get it.

My watch has arrived and I'm glad that I chose this over the J12. The leather strap makes it very wearable as an everyday watch. Love it.
