summer71 - I don't think Omega increases their prices annually...maybe once every 2 years. I am estimating around 10 - 15% increase.

They have just done at least two major increases in the past few months. They are trying to raise themselves in the market as they collapse their AD network and open boutiques. Looks like they want to be just a little less in price than Rolex. A Seamaster PO that was $2800 in January is now $3800. New LM PO's that were just announced at Basel, I think are coming in at around $5000, or just below the Submariner.
They have done upgrades to their products with the in-house 8300 movement. So, the price is somewhat justified, but after being so inexpensive for so long, it is hard to swallow such a steep increase in such a short time.

Mr Ho, I heard about the ADs and found out that the new Ladymatic is only sold in boutiques. I know there was a price adjustment in January 2011. I don't know how Omega is competing with Rolex but with such small price difference, I would go for Rolex but then again, Omega is a nicer watch to wear.....I can't explain why :shrugs:

The Omega's are definitely a nice watch. I think they will have a tough time at first convincing people they are more than what they used to be. It will be a long time before an Omega will hold it's value the way a Rolex does. Most people are recommending to wait and buy LNIB for a fraction of the cost of new, because Omega just cannot hold their value. I love the PO LM but for a little more I can get a Sub.

Did Omega undergo some type of new management for them to rework their positioning? They had a period where they had really uninteresting watches and most were really affordable...and then NOW. Who initiated this I wonder?
