There doesn't seem to be a dedicated Omega watch thread so I'm creating this about the new Aqua Terras. But if there's interest in a general Omega watch thread, maybe this can be collapsed into it down the road...

Omega just launched a new smaller automatic movement to create a ladies 30 mm version of its iconic Seamaster Aqua Terra (though I'm not enough of an afficienado to know how this is different from their 29 mm automatic Constellations but anyhoo lol)! I've always loved the Aqua Terra line but the smallest option previously was 34 mm. Also small watches are having a "moment" with even men wearing them, though Omega is clearly marketing this new line just for women. Which I think is great because there are so few automatic watches made to suit women and subsequently I think most women don't have an opportunity to learn about or appreciate mechanical timepieces.

What do you think about this new line? Does anyone have an Omega? Here is some eye candy - all the new model variations and what it looks like on the wrist. Imho, it's a gorgeous classic sporty perfect-for-everyday watch!

Ditto! Eventually I'd like to get a two-tone and this version is Goldilocks perfect imho.

BTW, I have my mother's Omega. It's a vintage 1960s articulated and textured 18K gold mechanical watch with. square face. My father had a more comparative watch to the Aqua Terra Automatic, he had an 18K bracelet Seamaster De Ville automatic and wore it every single day. It would have been too big for me in every way but I wish I had it.

I get the impression Omega isn't too popular in the forum. I own a De Ville and an Aquaterra 34mm but currently prefer to wear the Aquaterra. It's a pity they don't have textured dials for the ladies line anymore. I definitely agree it's a great daily watch.

This is the model I have and I'm surprised the 30 mm costs more.

Love the textured blue with the rose gold!
I've always loved a dark blue dial on watches

Likewise, I've always wondered why there's not a lot of Omega chatter here...it seems most of the interest is in either Rolex or Cartier. Yet Omega is considered by many in the watch world to be right up there. In fact I was talking to a local watch repair guy and collector recently and he said Omega is his favorite brand.

Your blue Aqua Terra is gorgeous! Love that textured dial and the rose gold indices

Note the prices in the pics I posted are in Canadian $$, and I'm assuming the 30 mm cost higher because they just developed a brand new movement to fit the smaller case.

Sounds beautiful!!! Do you have a picture to share? Some vintage Omegas I see online are amazing!

Love Omega Aqua Terra. It’s my most comfortable watch to wear. I have 34mm sandstone but if the 30mm had been available I would have bought that instead. Saw them in person this week and they are the perfect everyday watch and does not attract the wrong type of attention such as my Rolex and Cartier. Definitely feel comfortable wearing in any situation.

I tried on the purple and white on stainless steel bracelet yesterday. They were beautiful! My daily is a TT Cartier Panthere which is much thinner but also quartz. These are obviously thicker but not much heavier than the Panthere.

USD price is $6600. My husband got his AT from the same AD a few years ago and they gave him an amazing deal on it. I was told they would phase out discounts once they opened their Omega boutique, but the SA I spoke to seemed to indicate they might still offer discounts from time to time. Not sure they would on these since they just came out but absolutely eyeing for my next timepiece.

Thank you! I think the model I own is old/hard to find...it was definitely strangely cheaper than the 34 mm with similar dial to the new 30 mm when I went to the AD. I'd consider the 30 mm if it's just the size difference in case. The dials are stunning in person!
