Old or New leather for Burgundy Phantom?

I bought a smooth leather phantom, but just returned it due to some defects on the bag. Sooo I'm on a search for a new phantom in burgundy color. I know Barneys has one in smooth leather, but Aloha rag is receiving order for burgundy phantom in calf leather (SS12). IMO the new smooth leather looks more luxurious, although I do like the slouchiness of the old leather better, and it doesnt easily get scratched. Which one should I go for?

they're both gorgeous and I guess its personal preference! But I read on several other threads that the slouchy leather gets too slouchy? So maybe the new leather?

I voted for the calf skin! As you know I have one in black, which I already find a little stiff so I cannot imagine how the new leather would be like!
