Hello!! I don't know how many OG people are still here but I'm asking about the old swap box items I have sitting in my closet. Back story: We held a beauty swap box a few times a year that traveled the country. Due to declining interest we took a break around 2019. Then covid happened and I assumed that was a no dice type of situation. So at this point I CAN mail some stuff out if someone is interested but most of this stuff is now 6-10+ years old and probably very expired and I don't know how eager most are for used cosmetics for sanitary reasons. And I don't think they can be donated. I would like to start tossing stuff because Its taking up a lot of room but I don't feel right just doing that without feedback.

I would definitely toss the products. Opened products that are that old wouldn't be safe to use, so don't feel bad about disposing of them.

Edited to say that even unopened products 6-10+ years old are way past their shelf life, so I would dispose of these, too.

I used to love participating in the beauty swap box (and the nail polish one, too)! I agree that unfortunately anything that's left is probably far past its prime.

So sorry that the burden falls on you to deal with all of the products. If you live near a Nordstrom, Ulta or Sephora, those stores accept empty clean containers for recycling (if you're able to clean anything without too much trouble):

That was nice of you to check with folks first!
