Official poodle thread!

You MUST brush a poodles hair everyday.:faint: Because it is thick & it matts very easily and then there is just no way except a groomers. The poodle hair is definately one where it requires frequent grooming. AT home and at the groomers.

Yikes! That may be a little much for me. Or maybe it could be our "end of the day TV watching bonding" time? Thanks for the info!

Here is a pic of my precious poodle, Molly.

The little guy is my brother's poodle, Lucky.

ohmygosh ladies i LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE POODLES! we have had three of them!
but now we have none and i am desperatley looking for one!

we had our little lulu and juliet they were a black and a white mini poodle and were wonderful pets until late 80's
and then our dear LUCY was a lost poodle who came to our door and was with us up until she went to heaven two years ago
IT IS TIME WE WANT A NEW BABY

we MUST have a pup with health certificates etc...we have gone through so much with diabetes and blindness etc...we want this time to start with the best if we can
but also we work with shelter dogs in the caribbean see my signature and we get homes for dogs in the states
but we are allergic to every kind but poodles

anyone know of a toy or mini poodle breeder that is REPUTABLE and that does all the testing etc.....

LOVE YOUR PUPS wowwwwwwwwwwwww

The rescue where I got my poodle mix from sometimes has the Bahama hotcakes. They're so cute, and always get adopted so quickly.
Anyway, I know you said you wanted health ceritificates and everything, but I still wouldn't completely rule out shelter/rescue dogs. Rescues tend to be INCREDIBLY knowledgable about their dogs, and often times when they are owner turn-ins, they have the papers for the dogs. I know how you feel about that though because with my last dog we went through SO much (probably as a result of old age). We got my poodle-mix (think she's a maltipoo) from a rescue in may, they had their vet look at her and we had our vet look at her and everything's great so far. There are several Poodle rescues as well. I'm sure they wll be very knowledgable about their dogs and can address yor concerns/worries. Also, living in NYC, a lot of those "desirable" breeds are given up constantly and get adopted super fast. Many of them probably don't even make it onto petfinder. I would recommend checking out the shelters in person (we got one of our dogs from the long island location bideawee before she was listed on petfinder, but theres also a manhttan bidewee. the facilites are very nice/clean and the workers are ver knowledgable).
www.petfinder.com is a great resource that I consult literally everyday. if you'd be interested in adopting a dog, i can give you advice/recommendations/search dogs that I think would fit your family/lifestyle. Seriously, anything that you need that would help to give a homeless dog a loving home. PM me if you want to consider this option and need help in any sort of way. Good luck!

Here's my beloved Gucci, the smartest dog I've ever had, or in the world possibly! (of course I'm a biased mum tho ;)) He's almost 5 and a cream standard poodle. I love him soo much!! more pics to come... :graucho:

I want to add Bosco and Rufus to the mix. Their mom is a mini poodle and dad is a chihuahua/pug mix. We got them from a rescue in North Carolina after I fell in love with Bosco on petfinder. Then we got there and I sprung it on DH that maybe we should just go ahead and get two of them! They are littermates. They have poodle fur and pug tails. Very smart!
