Odeon MM as a modern day Jackie O bag?

So I missed the price increase and I'm really kicking myself. I know I want to get one bag this year before, who knows, LV increases price again sometime in fall (because they can).

I've thought about Pochette Metis and Montsouris MM in empreinte black, but at the end of the day PM is small for my daily needs, and backpack isn't my style (haven't worn a backpack in 20+ years).

I want a functional tote that has a zipper on top. I do like the Odeon MM. If I were to get one I'd probably go and get a shorter strap from Amazon or Mautto to carry it as a hobo.

Or should I just get the Gucci 1961 bag. But Gucci has such poor resale value and over the years, the Gucci's I've bought end up sitting in dust bags.

What are your thoughts? Inspire me.

I'd vote for the Odeon MM, just because it is a bit more capacious than the Jackie. You could also look into Hermè's Trim III; its shape is similar to the Jackie (though I'm unsure which size is most similar).

I never knew the Jackie and Hermes Trimm lll is so identical!


I have always admired the Jackie from afar. So my vote is for the Jackie.:smile:

Hermes Evelyne PM 29 turns out to be a great medium size hobo bag when replace the long crossbody strap to shorter strap, low key, luxurious, expensive, holds just enough amount - large full size wallet, agenda, glasses, phone, tissues, masks, ipad if need to etc, holds value pretty well, but it's Herms maybe too low key to some

I have the Noir Odeon MM and it is a favorite of mine. I use mine all the time and would highly recommend this bag. I do have a couple Gucci Dionysus bags and haven’t used them in awhile But I do like Gucci. I definitely would try the Odeon!!

And I was thinking of purchasing these 2 straps to use the Odeon as a shoulder bag.

What I like most about the Odeon are
  1. It's a little decorative with the removable tag (I can use another LV charm if I want).
  2. I can change out the strap.
  3. It has a zipper (otherwise I'm really goofy and with open top bags).
  4. It has the noir/ monogram for ease of use. Rain for shine.
  5. It's big enough, but not overwhelming.
  6. Lastly, the big pocket outside for easy access to phone and keys. :heart:
