Ode to NO Twillies on bags

I’m definitely and irreversibly in the no deco camp for my bags.
Charms, ribbons , gewgaws ....naaah.
A little darkening on Barenia is OK, I try to leave off using cream on hands and arms when I use the Toile Barenia Garden Party.
The handle on the 80s BBK is starting to crack, it matches my overall look and reflects the passage of time.

Welcome to the H side Metalblond,

I'm sure there are instances where people cover flaws or wear with accessories but most twillies on handles are used to prevent darkening or acid damage (our hands secrete acids naturally) which can affect the finnish on some leathers/exotics.

I'm sure many just use them for outfit coordination or decoration too.
Thanks, Papertiger! I was a hardcore Chanel girl for the last 10 years (and my best friend is an LV person who only covered handles after darkening or damage--hence my initial idea about the twilly's). A year ago I decided to dabble a bit into the Hermes world. All it took was just one and now I'm completely addicted to all things Hermes and there is no looking back! These forums are fantastic too- what a wealth of knowledge (and gorgeous bags too ;). Thanks again!
