I've just ordered an oak bays (unseen) and there are various types
Some were grainy and some smooth
The SA said he thought the nicest was a very grainy one which was slightly darker...
I said I'd go with his judgement but still undecided.
I'm also going to order at some point an oak printed Bays which is quite smooth in texture
Any thoughts?
I know I've seen both but can't remember what I thought at the time??

Hey Rachie , sounds like you have the perfect oak bays enroute . I like the grainy and slightly darker oak , much more character imo .
As for the oak printed , I bought my Mum a black printed Bays for her birthday , it's just beautiful .
When will it arrive ?

Hopefully by Fri/Mon
Thanks for the advice...I had one before but (quite old and floppy though) it always felt a bit too old and secondhand?
I have a red post box ready for it
Elvis they did have a printed brown Bays at SM, if you're interested at £455.

I prefer grainy. When I bought my Ledbury I chose the more grainy of the 2 available and was happy with that choice.

If you are anything like me having to chose can be very stressful.

Personally, I'd say grainy but, I did have 2 oak Alanas at one time and preferred the smoother leather - think it sometimes depends on the style (Alana is already quite 'busy' with all the hardware etc)

Lucky old you, having both an oak Bays & getting a printed one too. I'm very jealous lol
