I've fallen completely in love with this Alexander McQueen De Manta tote...........................................................

Can anyone please advise me of the closest Coach tote that zips at the top, has a squarish shape and has very soft leather? I'd like it to be about 13-15" wide and about 12" high or so. I HATE when I find a style I love and it's $1000+......aaack!

There was a Kristin elevated tote a couple years ago - I think goat leather. Soft heavy leather - very squishy. I think the elevated version only came in black. Try google or google image. I'm not home , but will look for more info later if you don't find it.

For very soft leather, I'd look for a Soho tote from the 90s or early 2000s. Like these. There is a newer MFF bag #17216 that might be nice. I've never seen it IRL.

In my opinion, the most "buttery soft leather" that Coach ever produced was for the Parker line, and the 14162 slim tote has a similar size and silhouette to the McQueen bag but it has a magnetic closure - not a zip top. The pics below are of the mauve bag, but it came in other colors including black, mahogany, gunmetal, graphite, and sand.

These bags periodically show up on ebay NWT so maybe it would work for you.

The Parkers were a beautiful and luxurious Coach line. I have 2 Parkers and I love them. Good luck!

I think I just fell in love with that color!

The closest bag that is currently available at Coach would be the Unlined Mercer Tote. It's available with a Plaid Interior or with a Wild Beast printed-leather interior, which only have about 20 or so left in the company. You'd have to call and track down a store that still has it in stock.

Thank you to everyone who replied, I think I'll be going with the Cuyana zipper top tote in the pebbled leather. It has everything I need. One of my requirements is a zip closure.

It looks like they make some beautiful totes at reasonable prices.

ohhhh... just looked at the Guyana website. Love your choice..... love too many of them:smile1: Great prices - and - they're made in San Francisco! Can't wait to stop by, next time I'm in the city (I'm about 30 miles outside of SF).
Thanks for sharing your choice!
