Hello there lovely ladies,

I have been after an Aegean necklace on the preloved market for some time now, and am having a look at one tomorrow in person.

The strange thing is, it has 29 links and weighs around 150 grams. Seller states that it is 20 inch, but I am not sure if this really true. (They might have seen the Tiffany website and think ''hey this is the same'') The stamp looks perfect.

I find it hard on the internet to find out if there was an older version with bigger or smaller links. I find hints of this, but not really any clear cut info.

Is there anybody who has these pieces and their personal collection and could give me some info?

We have the 'normal'one, but I am unable to count the links on the website https://www.tiffany.com/jewelry/necklaces-pendants/elsa-peretti-aegean-necklace-GRP02348/

I found to that went for auction with weight stated :37inch 37 links. Weight would be in relation to size, but link number would be off. (some body really lucky won this one!)

Help! Any info on the production history of this line would be very helpful. Feels like I have lost the plot ^^;

This particular piece has been made for years. There were probably many variations of link size and length. Plus there was always the possibility of a piece being shortened. Your best bet is to look at the markings to determine age before comparing it to recent items on the market.
