Yes, all my bbags' leather has softened up with everyday use, when they were originally stiff and shiny.

Yeah this one is very stiff and shiny. Unlike my others.

Wellll, in your poll I voted for the Steel City because I liked the leather SO much more. I still wouldn't say that leather is TOO veiny but if you don't like it...

it looks fine to me... i think its the color... black so the veins would be more noticeable... its a personal preference really... some like their bags veiny and some like it smooth... if it really bugs you... then exchange it... HTH

your bag is gorgeous! but if you don't love it then maybe exchange it for a smoothier one. i personally love both veiny and smooth leather.
