  1. Hi lovely Belenistas!

I have been meaning to post a little review and some pics of my Surprise Me and matching AP, which arrived earlier this week. Suffice it to say that I have not taken it off since there's no need -- pewter crash goes with everything, and this style is incredibly practical for everyday use!

Without further ado, here's my new Surprise Me (no modifications, other than the purple lining):

  3. Great pics! I love pewter crash, too. You're going to have so much fun wearing this bag.

Ohhhhhh.......thank you for the pewter purse porn! More awesome pics!

  4. As for capacity, this bag is wonderful...I frankly don't see it look very good much bigger than it already is, and it does lay very flat even when nearly full/full. To give you an idea of what I carry around in it on a daily basis, here's a pic:

Left to right: Full size (large) Ray-Bans case, full AP (with LV round coin ourse inside, PM, cash, and cards inside), medium size Lonchamp cosmetics case, Longchamp coin purse full of discount/shopper cards and coupons, celly, Kleenex pack, and key (with my beloved mini Havianas key chain from Brazil...I am obsessed with those flip flops!) :tender:

And there is still plenty of room for more.

  5. I love your pix, Loquita...
    Pewter is just ... perfect...
I am glad to hear that you are really enjoying this bag...
PS I love the pun in your title...

  6. Pros: Carrying capacity and comfort!! This is a dream for traveling or everyday use, I am convinced. It is very flat and as you see carries all of the necessities...I am taking this on all of my trips from now on, and wouldn't hesitate to get this bag again in another color, though I think that this bag is ideal for pewter crash since it's such a versatile, hard-wearing leather/color. I also see the looooong tassels as a def. plus, but that is a personal preference. (I am a sucker for long tassels or tassels of any kind on my bags!) I also tried carrying it over the shoulder, and it works well that way, too.

Finally, I adore (x10) the new BE tags. To me they are like a miniature advertisement for the design touches that make BE unique -- handstitching, fine leather (the tag is substantial enough for you to get a sense of what the leather is really like), and the gorgeous little pink crystal. I also really like the new mounting for the crystals -- it strikes me a distinctly feminine, yet discrete. I admire that balance, and it's part of what attracts me to BE in the first place.

Cons: I think that someone else mentioned this, but the zipper on the hand-threaded side of the SPM peeks out a bit when the bag is fully packed. This isn't horrible by any means but just something to be aware of.

Potential con: I am curious to see just how the pewter crash piping along the edges of the bag wear with time. If I recall correctly (and I haven't seen all of BE's designs IRL), this is the only BE with that piping. I will report back if I notice any significant changes in this with continuous wear.

Hope my little review is helpful to others!! In short, I highly recommend this bag, especially for travel, shopping, or running errands!! I even see it as appropriate for a casual/semi-casual dinner out, especially in one of the crash leathers or metallics.

  7. Thanks, tK!! Isn't pewter the best? My mom wants one now, too...she is in love with the color/leather!!

  8. Thanks, maria dear!!

I can only hope that my pewter bags get to be one half as gorgeous as your pewter Hold Me has become...it is seriously one of my favorite bags on the forum!!

PS: OT: If you get a Paraty, can we share it? PLEEEEEEEEEEASE? It's my fave Chloe!!

  9. I am getting closer to my Paraty aim... if my bag rehoming project is successful, i may have a Paraty on its way to Spain pretty soon...
I'd be glad to share it with you when you come visit your in-laws...
BTW, have you seen the BEtty (i just posted modeling pics of mine in the chloe area). I think this bag would be really really really you in the medium size... It is the best chloe imho... worth considering...

  10. Beauuuuuuutifuuuul! I'm not normally a brave, pewter person, but this bag just rocks and makes me rethink ordering a pewter bag! The purple lining is especially delicious. Congrats, Loquita!
