Normal wear & tear or overreacting?

Dear LVoers,

I have my Speedy for about... 7 years now and I started noticing a sticky feeling on the handles at the inside.
This started this summer. Quite annoying! It feels very sticky and is not visible at the “outside” of the handles. Could it be that this is normal wear and tear? Or would LV be able to fix this? When I hold my speedy for a long time, it happens that my palm is even brown... Which is again: not something to be amused about.

I took some pictures. I don’t know if you can see it clearly but there is no glazing on both sides and it really feels sticky.

Is it only on my Speedy?
What can i do about this?

Regardless of whether this is normal wear and tear (I don’t know. Could be due to regular usage after seven years and climate ) I would take it in and see if you can get the handles repaired/replaced. I don’t know how it will look replaced because I have read some threads about the new look of the leather on Damier handles and not sure if that is universal or if that would not apply to replacement handles.

I believe there was an issue with the glazing on the handles of the damier ebene. Maybe you can see if they will replace the handles. It's been 7 years though. I think some people were experience issues early on. Your bag looks fantastic otherwise.

The glazing on the handles has melted. Take it to your nearest store and let them assess the bag. If they deem that the bag is too old to qualify for a free repair, you can always get the handles replaced for a fee. They might simply proceed with the replacement and comp the repair.

I was charged $120 for new handles on my Azur Speedy and it was only 3 years old. Not only did the glazing crack it had a sharp edge and cut my hand!
