Normal Buckle??

I just received this 32mm buckle that I purchased from Hermès online. Is this sort of marking/defect normal or could they potentially have sent a floor model? I’m a little sad that my brand new buckle seems less than ideal. There are no stores near me & I’m wondering if I’m being overly sensitive about the defect?

Return it and call customer service immedialtely.
My friend has two belt buckles, one polished gold and one brushed gold. Her brushed gold has more noticeable scratches , and she would never buy brushed hardware again.

No, it did not! I assumed that was the norm and was caught off guard when there was no plastic sticker.

I think it should have that protective plastic on there. Maybe others can chime in?

The one I got around 2 weeks ago in the H store (in Germany) has the protective plastic on.

those marks would annoy me, I’d request an exchange at the very least.

Should have come with plastic on....I would return...no sense in stressing after you spent good money1

That has most certainly been worn. One of my regrets for getting a brushed gold is how quickly it gets marked.

ditto the previous post. my brush gold buckle shows huge signs of wear after just 3 use...

Thank you everyone for your advice. The customer service rep got back to me and said she “spoke with Paris” & determined it was defective. Returning it for an exchange. But such a frustrating mess that should never have occurred.
