I am looking for a fashion watch (like Michael Kors or Michele) and would like to check out the outlets this weekend.

Which of these has the better prices -- NR or Off 5th? Off 5th is closer 36 miles (Gilroy) vs 63 miles with Nordstrom Rack (San Jose). If the selection/prices are comparable, I don't want to drive further.

Does anyone know how much the Michael Kors watches run for in the outlets? I've already called around about the Micheles so I'm familiar with the pricing on those.

Thanks!

Hello, I've seen them run for around $100 and under in Seattle Premium Outlets. However, may I steer you away from these fashion watches? I'm an avid watch collector, and Michael Kors and Michele watches uses some of the cheapest quartz movements from China. Both Michael Kors and Michele watches are made by Fossil, so I'd recommend you save the money and get a Fossil at half the price. Us watch collectors don't like to see people getting ripped off for sub-par watches ;).

I am aware of that. Michele and MK just have two particular models that i think are cute and i like the look. I'd pay that much for just a bracelet or digi watch if I liked it, so I don't think it's getting ripped off if it is something i will enjoy wearing. If I saw a fossil watch that I liked I'd buy it. That said, I would not pay full retail price for a Michele watch when you can get them for half the price at the outlets. I appreciate the input though.

If you want, I can help you find similar watches with better quality and movements at possibly a lower price. Michele and MK are typically homages of real watches, so it shouldn't be too difficult to search for alternatives. But if you are set on buying those, then good luck, and wear it in good health :smile1:.

This weekend offSaks has the additional 30% off coupon so the price there might be better. I also think they have a better selection than the nordstram racks in the bay area. Are you planning to go Saratoga? I like giltoy off saks more than great mall.

I've seen michael kors at nordstrom and saks. I think rack has em for $200-250? And offsaks was like $250-300 but then with 30% off it beats nordstrom rack

I got my MK at Nordstrom Rack. I had actually purchased a MK at Off Fifth when they had 25% off but they could not find the box. I waited for 30 minutes before I gave up and had them return it with the hope that they would call when they found the boxes. I stopped off at Nordstrom Rack on a whim and spent $50 more and got the ceramic version. Nordstrom had a netter selection and the prices were better. I'd suggest called NR. They seem very helpful.

I suggest calling. I'm from the San Jose area and I haven't seen any MK watches at NR in a while. Overall though, I think there is better shopping at NR so you might just want to go there. Gilroy and San Jose are only about 35 min apart though so if you have time...you can just make a long shopping day out of it and visit both! :smile1:

Good luck!

Update:

I went to Gilroy on Saturday. The MK I was after was the small runway watch in gold. There were some similar models but not quite what I was after. Off 5th had a Michele CSX which is the style I love. I hadn't tried one on before so I was excited to get the chance. It looked perfect! I would have pounced on it, but it didn't have a stainless strap.

DH found a watch though, so all in all, the trip was a success.

I have a touch of remorse about not getting the CSX, but I'll call around and see if I can find another. If I have to order a strap online, I will. At least I'm confident about which style I like now.

Thanks for the help! I do need to make a day out of it next time.

I saw someone post on the MK thread that they got a MK watch at the fossil outlet. Gilroy has a fossil outlet, so you might want to check that out next time also?

I checked it out. They had more MK watches than Off 5th. They just didn't have the style I was looking for. They had a lot of the colored rubber MKs, blingy styles, and men's watches so I'd recommend it to others shopping for MK watches. They had a lot of the same watches that are currently in Macy's @ full price.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but could you make a few alternative suggestions? Or should we start a new thread?
