No returns on ILD Clearance items

I just discovered that clearance items on ILD are all final sale.
This was news to me, so I thought I would share the info in case anyone
is ordering anything that is marked clearance.
Question… so is dooney.com the boutique and I love dooney the outlet? Just making sure as I was confused they both had some of the same items with different prices. I see I love dooney on eBay and those prices look to be the cheapest. I also see a lot of nwt still in plastic on a few resale sites…the prices way cheaper there. I love a retired nwt bargain. Thank you in advance

Dooney . com is the main Dooney site. I Love Dooney is Dooney's official online outlet.
ILD has some older styles and colors and extra quantities. You can read Dooney's official
description on the ILD website. Prices between the 2 sites differ and so can return policies.
Both are reputable sites, but you need to follow the rules (like return instructions/time frames) and don't expect any price reductions on ILD if an item goes on sale right after you buy it. I don't know how the main Dooney site handles price reductions.

There is also an ILD site on ebay. Prices, shipping, and returns are different than the primary ILD site. Sometimes the 2 ILD sites have the same prices on some items,
and sometimes one or the other is less expensive... and it varies which one.
But according to the ILD/ebay site, all their merchandise ships directly from Dooney.

When you are buying from ILD/ebay you are dealing with the corporation, not an individual seller. The designation NWT is an ebay thing, not a Dooney or ILD thing.
All the Dooney bags are NWT no matter which Dooney/ILD site they are from
(to the best of my knowledge).

I've bought from all 3 sites over the years and found the quality to be the same
and also the same as brick-and-mortar Dooney boutiques, Dooney outlets,
department stores, and shopping channels like QVC.
Sometimes you will find special sales on ILD where the items are designated.
in a way that makes you think they might be samples, etc. So it's important to
read the descriptions and sale banners carefully.

I just received 2 Alto bags from ILD from the clearance section. I didn't know they
were final sale when I bought them. Don't know if I missed the info on the site or
it was posted later. The good news is that both bags are absolutely perfect!

Thanks! I’m reading this too late, though. I just bought a bag, got it today, don’t like it and now have to keep it. I’ll use it as a house bag to store my wristlets and eventually donate it. Lesson learned!

I rarely return handbags, but I want the option to do so, especially if I find something about the handbag I consider a defect. Luckily the bags I got after
they started this no returns rule were ok. But I don't think I will buy anymore
clearance handbags. Just not worth the risk to me.

Sorry you don't like the bag you got. You could try to resell it, or just pass it on
to someone you know who might enjoy it. At least that way you won't have to keep looking at it and getting annoyed all over again.

I just wanted to remind everyone that clearance items on ILD are
final sale. Doesn't mean you shouldn't buy them, but if you
are picky about your bags, then you need to think about it,
I've gotten perfect bags from ILD clearance. And pebbled leather
is usually more reliable, but there are no guarantees. Bags could
be returns or have issues. No way to know in advance.

Since they instituted the no returns policy for clearance, I no longer
buy clearance online.

I'm with you on that. No more clearance. The last item I ordered from them was a bordeaux flo Cameron. It was also the first time I'd ordered from them in a long time, but I didn't expect any issue since I've had good luck in the past doing biz with them. The bag I got was a total mess. Both ends were sooo unevenly splotched in color - it should have never ever been shipped. Ticked me off to have to pay shipping on return. Left a really bad taste for ILD.

I'm being nosy. About a third of my bags are florentine and 2/3 are from the Alto collection.

I look through the Alto section on ILD and D&B a few times a week. Which two did you add to your amazing collection?

I bought the Alto Alma in black and red in June. Both arrived in excellent condition.
I was lucky because I didn't see any final sale notice when I ordered them from
the sale that was on at the time. either I missed the alert or it was added later
in the day.
I really like the Alma, it's a decent size and I like the style and structure.

Good choice! That is a beautiful bag. I am curious about the Alto red. I have red florentine, but not in the Alto.

I have my eye on the Alto Marla. I believe it is somewhat like the Alma, but smaller. We downsized and I am after small D&B bags. I love the medium to larger bags, but my large closets are a thing of the past. To think downsizing was my idea.

Alto red is a true red, but not quite as vibrant as a good Florentine red.
Alto leather tends to absorb, rather than reflect light and color.
As a result colors seem a little softer to me.

I've found Alto red to be more consistent than Florentine red.
Florentine red can look more like wine in some items, especially SLGs.
At least that is my experience.
