So sorry to hear about this Jasanna (BTW, do you post at other online forums, like Clic, LuxFashion, tFS, or VIP? There's a woman there who goes by the name "Anastasia Beaverhausen"...is it you?)

Do you have a full time job or are you under your parent's insurance? Do either of you have healthcare flexible spending accounts at your jobs? I have to get major dental work this year too (about $5200 worth) and what I did was max out my healthcare flexible spending account to pay for some of the expenses. Unfortunately, you have to set up this account during enrollment time for the following year...if the surgery can wait until January of next year (and it sounds like it can), then investigate this with your folks.

Since this isn't covered under your health insurance...ask the dentist for a discount!! Most health providers have various fees...what they charge the insurance company vs what they charge people without insurance. If you are going to pay cash/check, I would definitely make them give you some kind of discount. Many places are willing to give you a deal when you are paying cash....especially if you've been a longtime patient of this doctor.

Good luck!

Thanks for all your valuable info! This accident took place years ago when I used to be on my parent's med ins. I'm almost 30 now so needless to say, not on their plan anymore. My husband and I didn't enroll in the FSA during open enrollment so that opportunity has since sailed .

Since I've been going to the same doc for years now, he's already giving me a discount..that's the scary part about it!

Here's a shot in the dark but one of my friends hosts her own local TV show so I'm wondering... if he agrees to free publicity on her show, if he would be willing to give me a deep discount?? Hmmm....

Oh and this is the only forum to which I belong..but that's too funny! I guess there's another die hard W&G fan like me! ;)

Good luck..I am soo sorry! If it makes you feel better..I have had some serious health issues and had to crown the ENTIRE top row of my teeth..as well as other surgeries on my gums....it has cost over 40,000 yes...dollars!! Luckily...My doctor took a payment plan!!! (like a mortgage payment each month!!) I so understand and empathize..Feel free to PM me with any questions or if you are miserable..I can so relate..It has taken forever and my work still isnt done!I still dread going there...its alot of emotional and physical chaos!
I'm in the same boat - I've spent about 30,000. trying to keep my teeth - 7 or 8 implants, a root amputation, tons of crowns etc. It IS a long and expensive ordeal that seems to never end - I am so tired of it but it has to be done - It doesn't matter what bag you've got if you have medical/dental needs - hang in there - you'll get through it - you are not alone. Wish you the best.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal  . I hope everything turns out well, and you get to smile with ease soon. It's very true that your health is so much more important than any bag. These teeth will last you a lifetime, and match everything in your closet  . No bag can do that.

Best wishes!!!

With the title "No more bags, no more anything for awhile" I thought my hubby was on the board trying to drum some sense into me.

I wish you the very best and... maybe even more of a discount! Can't hurt to try another angle with the doc. ;)

Been there , done that. I'm older than you and had a speedy healing and I wish the same for you!! It is a good time to do this when you're still young and will bounce back quicker. Bags will still be there...

...and we're here for when you want to vent and you're  :weird:  from painkillers

Very sorry to hear that, lucky you have supporive parents though  Even if you're not going to take them up on the offer its great to have that kind of love and support. I hope you get better soon!

I'm sorry to hear about the surgeries you need, but happy to hear that you are lucky enough to afford them for yourself and take care of your health. I know we all love bags, but at times we have to remember what really matters!! Good luck with everything and keep us updated!

We will show you our beauties, and you take time for yourself! Don't worry, I usually live vicariously through these other ladies bag collections too!!!

Jassana, sorry to hear about your predicament. It doesn't help that you got the flu too. Anyway, get lots of rest and drink plenty of fluids.Hope you feel much better soon.....

Thanks guys once again...to make matters worse, I went to the doctor's today thinking I had the severe flu as I previously discussed. Turns out I have borderline pneumonia or walking pneumonia so to speak. So all my other med bills will be piling up as well.....I'm tellin' ya, when it rains it pours.

Maybe it was fate that I put all those handbags up for auction. Plz don't think I'm shamelessly plugging my auctions but plz keep your eyes out for any of your friends that may want some great authentic bags too. I have a whole "lot" of purses that hasn't had any bids yet and it's really making me nervous.
