I'm sorry but I find this thread a little offensive, not because they're having sex on a teacup, but because those are actually famous asian artworks, sort of like well, the mona lisa... ok maybe not thaaat famous, but well, cultured. It is not simply the picture of two people having sex on a teacup, and it's certainly not 'porn'.
Um, not to be rude, but how is someone who's not Asian (or at least not familiar with famous works of Asian art) supposed to know that that these works of art are apparently considered some sort of national treasure?
The definition of "porn", also, is quite subjective. I think that she was using the term loosely.
Last point: to non-Asians the tea service does not have a symbolic meaning. It's just a beverage, like, drinking a Coke or water. So the fact that these important works of art are featured on a tea set is probably doubly offensive to the Japanese, for instance, but most Americans or Europeans would probably think it's more than a little random, odd, and frankly pretty funny.
But I still don't wanna see the auction and haven't looked.
