Nice moon phase watches?

I always liked the moon (sun) phase watches.

Does anyone knows a beautiful one? I don't care about the brand, just the look.

I've seen a beautiful Seiko, but I think it could be more out there.

Thanks in advance for your input/pics

Arnold & Son make some of the most beautiful moonphase watches.

Hi!

This is obviously highly personal, but I think one of the most beautiful astronomical watches is the Patek Philippe Celestial. For myself it would probably be the 6102-P-001 (Platinum) but my heart beats for the 6102-R-001 (Rosegold)

-> https://www.patek.com/de/kollektion/grandes-complications/6102R-001

Besides those, I'd also like the 5208R-001 because it shows the date in a window and not by an extra hand.

I also absolutely love the kinda "minimalistic" approach (for a moon phase anyway) of the A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia moon phase. 384.031 and 384.026

-> https://www.alange-soehne.com/de/zeitmesser/saxonia-mondphase/384026-weissgold

Another intriguing one (to me, anyway) is the Vacheron Constantion Fiftysix ( 4000E/000A-B548 )

A more subtile/ "laid back" piece of art, speaking of moon phase watches: Rolex Cellini Moonphase. ( 50535 )

What stands out: white lacquer dial, blue enamel moon phase disc, full moon application out of meteorite material.

I could drool over all of these for days. Carefully panning them in the light ...

Kind regards,
Oliver

I also want a moonphase!
Wow! Some awesome recommendations..umm.got any suggestions that are priced a lot more “Down to earth”(pun intended)

Depends on the budget and how low you mean by down to earth.

For about around the one thousand mark you can get a nice seiko.

For a bit more you can get a campanola which is Citizen’s luxury brand.

Many mid price brands offer moon phases such as Longine.

Take a look at Bulova, Tissot, Baume & Mercier, etc...

Hi!

Seiko is a sure bet all around. It's quite a bit under 1000,- USD if I'm not misinformed.

If it may be a bit over 1000,- USD (at least msrp) I'd throw in Frederique Constant FC-335MC4P6.

They fly a bit under the radar so to speak. The only drawback, depending on personal style, it's a 40 mm watch with 20 mm lugs/bracelet.

F.C. also has a quartz Moonphase, that should be well below 1000,-

What a great topic! Moonphase is not a complication that speaks to me personally, but if I were choosing, I’d go with one of the following, budget permitting of course.

First two by Jaeger Lecoultre - the Rendez-vous and the Reverso duetto. With the Reverso duetto, you get 2 watches in one, with moonphase as an added feature.

Third is a Ulysse Nardin moonphase model. Their moon is small, but rotates around the dial, unique to the brand I think.

Oh, absolutely. There is no comparison between the cost of fine watches and high end, designer handbags. That said, Jaeger Lecoultre is a watchmaker’s watchmaker, who produce all their own movements in-house, and are considered top-tier makers. Their Rendez-vous models were the first designed by the house specifically for women.

Agree.I'm kinda burnt out on handbags (well not completely ) but I am totally into watches these days. Oddly enough, I’m not into the JLC reverso, finding the dial a bit staid. But I do like this round moonphase.

What happened to the original poster anyway? We want to see what you're getting!
