Newbie to Gucci. I'm looking at the Marmont

Before I post...I've just been on brownsfashion and Gucci uk. Both have velvet marmonts if anyone is still hunting them...

Hi, I'm in the U.K. And brand new to Gucci. I've been buying and selling Mulberry for years but in all honesty I've gotten a bit bored of their designs.
This seasons Gucci Marmont and Dionysus bags have completely blown me away, I love the new logo and I've decided to take the plunge and buy my first Gucci.
I'm staying in London for a few days before Christmas and I'm hoping to pick up a Marmont in small then as I prefer to see bags before I buy them.
So, I'd like to ask a few questions if I may....
I never buy smooth leather, how does it hold up with regular use?
Does anyone have the new light pink colour in anything...I don't have a store near me and that colour way has only just launched here. I've been debating between light pink, nude and this seasons pink. I'm loving the light pink as it will fit into my everyday wardrobe really well.
Also in the Gucci online sale...in Europe, how much do you typically save?

I think the jury's still out on the hardiness of the leather as it's a fairly new model, time will tell

There are no public sales this season, it's the new policy at Gucci. One must be invited to any private sales and it's now called 'preview'. Are you thinking about a Marmont too?

I like both, in fact I have a quilted Chanel with similar studs that my mother gave me a long time ago. The pearly will always be girly whereas the studs can take on a harder edge too. It depends on your style. I do love the pieces with pearls on and was thinking about a jacket, pearls on the front but didn't like the tiger patch 'slapped' on the back, there was a different version of the jacket without pearls but crystals and no tiger but I think I came to conclusion the pearls made the jacket.

This is something I've also thought about when looking at the pearls but seeing as though Gucci are using them on fashion jewellery and shoes where they will be even more exposed and knocked around they should be OK. Having said that, so far this year I have had to take back new Gucci stuff to be repaired 3 times (and Hermes once too) at least I know G honour there guarantees.

In your boat. I'm going to get the Mini chain wallet/woc in either signature supreme Dionysus or the Marmont Metalasse in a taupe color with the gold GG and chain. Can't pick!!
