Hi all!

I am a total newbie to this forum, so I apologize in advance if this question has already been addressed. I did a search, but nothing that quite addressed my specific concern came up...

Having sold off all my Chanel (oof, price increases) and BV bags, I think I'm now ready to make the jump to the orange side :D After much thought, I've decided the bag I want is a 24cm/MM Constance, black epsom or swift, gold hardware. I'm aware that there's a pretty decently priced pre-loved market for the Constance, but I really want mine new from the boutique, and I think (correct me if I'm wrong) they're not well-stocked with Constances at the moment (or maybe ever). For reference, my local boutiques are Madison and/or Wall St.

I've never bought anything from Hermes before, although there are certainly other items I'm interested in purchasing in the future (agendas, wallets, etc.). I know it's a no-no to ask about Birkins and Kellys as a first time customer, which I'm not so into...but would I still be fast-tracking myself to Hermes no mans land if I asked about another bag?

Basically, would it be "kosher" for me to walk into my local Hermes boutique without any prior SA relationship and ask about acquiring a Constance?

Any advice would be most appreciated - thanks ladies!

I don't think it would be a problem, but since Constance bags have become very hard to find you may want to be open in the color/size selection so that you may have a better chance of scoring one. HTH!!

unfortunately, the constance is even more of a rarity now since hermes will be discontinuing the design in "regular" leathers...soon to be only available in exotic$$$.

thanks for the advice! thing is, it's just not worth it to me unless i get the combination i've been dreaming of, you know? sigh......it sucks to be picky :push:

:oh:

ACK. i did read something like that, but i was kind of praying it wasn't true...or too far off in the future for me to worry about. does this basically mean there's no chance i'll be able to find the combination i want in the system?

my advice would be to keep visiting H stores near you regularly (if there are some) for the Constance. they do exist and probably will pop up this year before they are supposedly discontinuing it in regular leather. they are also very rare in the stores but do appear now and then..

sigh...i guess i'll be hitting up H on wall st. today! thank you so much for your input!

AACK! Say it isn't so. I think it's a beautifully designed bag.

i know! such terrible news. i'm a big fan of smaller, hands-free shoulder bags, and up til now, carried chanel flaps...i was so looking forward to a constance of my own

ladies, any other advice on getting my hands on a constance would be MOST appreciated - it's my dream bag, and i could kick myself for waiting until it's too late!
