Newbie Needs Help with first MK

Hi guys, I want to get a zip top tote for my new job. I want a bag that I can take on the train and not worry about (hence the zip top), throw my lunch in, use as a purse etc.

in the beige but I'm worried about it getting dirty.

1. Is the canvas coated like LV?
2. Can you spray a protectant on it to keep it from getting dirty?
3. Should I just go with the http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=464350&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results
in black phyton?

Which one would go with more outfits? I'm trying to do neutral or incorporate black and brown.

Funny - the black one says "python print" but that isn't the one they show in the picture. I have an MK black python embossed bag and while it's ended up being a lot sturdier than I thought, I still wouldn't use it as my workhorse/everyday bag. I think the python is a bit more delicate than regular leather or canvas.

I think a regular black one as shown in the Macy's picture would hold up very well as would the canvas, but if they are the same price, I'd tend to lean toward the leather.

Insofar as colors go, either the canvas or black are both fine. Maybe for summer the lighter color canvas one would be nicer, or any light color really.

i work at macys and i have seen both of these bags in my store and actually handled them. over time i think that the python would hold up much better. if i remember correctly though some of these have gold metallic leather insides which i find get scratched and look pretty awful really fast. i dont think the canvas one has that lining. the canvas is NOT a coated canvas it does seem to have a protective layer over it, but it is a regular canvas. anymore questions just ask. =]
