New Vachetta Care

This past weekend I purchased the Speedy 25B, and this is my first piece with Vachetta leather. I have searched around for best care practices for wear and even patina, and landed upon a few people saying to tan for a week then wipe with baby wipes 2x and it is ready for use. I am currently tanning the leather on each side, but am debating on the baby wipes as I am scared of drying out or ruining the leather. Does anyone have any experience with this or have any other suggestions? I do want to stray away from using any kinds of chemicals or sprays.
