Hi ladies!

I currently have a Rolex Stainless Steel Oyster Bracelet Perpetual Date Yachmaster with a custom diamond bezel and am looking to purchase my next Rolex. I have my heart set on a two-tone model with SS and yellow gold, either the TT Daytona or the TT 31mm Datejust with jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel. I love the look of the 36mm Datejust as well, but am leaning towards the 31mm if I go for a Datejust.

Not only am I undecided of whether I want a Daytona or a Datejust, but I am also undecided on the dial/markers I would want. On the Daytona, I would want the Panda dial, white mother of pearl dial, or black mother of pearl dial. On the Datejust, I would want gold Roman numeral markers with either a white face, champagne face, white mother of pearl face, or black mother of pearl face. I am leaning towards the 31mm Datejust with gold roman numeral markers (unsure of which face but would like a golden one). I am also open to suggestions!

If anyone has any opinions and/or pictures of their TT Daytonas and TT Datejusts, please post them!

A couple of useful questions that can help you decide:

How much do you care about having a date function? If you definitely want the date (which I really like myself), that rules out Daytona.
And, are you after a sporty and casual look, or do you want a more dressy, multipurpose watch? The DJ does it all, the Daytona is strictly sporty and casual.

What a fun process to figure out. There are many pictures of these watches already in the Rolex threads, so browse there.

Personally the Daytona is the only Rolex I would ever consider owning as I really dont like any of the other models and would go for a different brand instead if you arent wanting the sporty look

Definitely. I can wear my mid-size DJ anywhere. It goes with jeans or a pretty dress. Though, if you want a strictly sporty/casual watch, the Daytona is a great choice. Personally, I couldn't wear the Daytona with more formal/dressy clothes so that limits it and is one reason why I didn't consider it seriously when I bought mine.

Time to go try them on in person. You should visit an AD (authorized dealer) and check them out in person, for look and weight. There's a big price difference, too.

One is 31mm, one is 40, so that right there indicates that the larger one will weigh more. Whether it's a difference that you mind is entirely your response.

If you have a Datejust or Daytona, feel free to post pictures of them here! :smile1:

I have both Daytona & 36mm datejust I think the Daytona can look dressy & have seen plenty of celebs rocking the Daytona in all different metals, I've worn my Daytona to very formal functions & felt it looked dressy........ I think because the bezel on the Daytona isn't as bulky as some Rolex sports watches like the Sub, yachtmaster & GMT you can easily wear it for formal functions, 3 years ago I owned a TT midsize Yachtmaster & found the bezel quite bulky & definitely more casual looking....... This is only my personal opinion but definitely go & try a few on & see which one wins your heart for me I've found my two perfect watches my Daytona & Datejust so I truly hope you find yours :D

Since you already have a yatchmaster which is sporty, might as well go for the datejust for dressier occasions. I vote for 31mm since it's already becoming a classic, as advised by my AD. The 36mm for women IMHO looks nice and trendy but might get outdated 10 or more years from now. For TT, I prefer the white MOP roman, black MOP roman, and white/steel roman. I am not a big fan of champagne roman dial since it will look "very yellow" for TT jubilee/fluted bezel, although this was the in-thing many, many years ago.
