New to this forum... Where to buy a Birkin?

Hello -- I'm new here!

I am looking forward to buying my first Birkin! The problem is, I don't know where to start! I know that Hermes has closed the waitlist and I've heard that most of the Birkins on eBay are fake.

My question is, since Hermes has closed the waitlist, where can I buy an authentic Birkin? Also, when buying online, how can I tell if it is authentic?

There ARE real Birkins on ebay. We have authentication thread on the Shopping subforum if you see an auction you're interested in.
