Here is my first Roley and I going to dinner (bad phone pic-sorry!)

It's a stainless steel (white face) rolex oyster perpetual date (34mm) Technically a men's watch but I think with the trend for bigger watches that size is probably a little small for most dudes.

I bought it from a trusted seller on rolexforums.com (don't even bother to look right now, the forum is down again today--the word is they bust so many fake Rolex ebay sellers that they are often "attacked" so the forum crashes not infrequently--it will be back up next week, I'm sure).

Anyway, I had the bezel replaced (it came with a machined one and I wanted a smooth one--my watchmaker had a Rolex one the right size in stock--yeah!). It's from 2001 but it is in beeeeaaauuutiful shape. No visible dings or scratches (even the clasp looks unscratched--whoever had this couldn't have worn it often) My watchmaker dude here in town took a look and measured it on his little machine and said it's keeping excellent time etc. . .said it looks great probably won't need a service for several years.

Even with the bezel change, it came in at well less than half MSRP for a new Oyster Perpetual date.

Anyway some of you knew i was waiting on my new baby--just thought I'd let you know she got here :) Now I have to start saving for a Rolex Sub. . .hehehe :graucho:

Gorgeous -- congrats! It looks lovely on you!

I am currently saving up for my first (and probably only) Rolex. I will most likely go the pre-owned route too. You certainly get a lot more watch for your money!

^^thanks! I love my alex and ani bracelets. cheap cheap and fun! check out their website they have a "bangle bar" where you can mix and match. I also like them because they're not so huge and you can squeeze them a little to tighten them some. I have such skinny arms/hands that most bangles just fall off if I swing my arm :)

I love it! It looks great on you! (Not to thread-jack: do you have a greyhound? DH and I have Italian Greyhounds so I get excited anytime I see someone with a sighthound!)

^^thanks! I have three retired racers! Stella (pictured in the avatar) was a match-racer (illegal racing) so her tattoos are altered so I don't know who she was, Millie (Shine Episode) a white with black spots racing school dropout, and Shazamm (Shazamm Episode) an old man who had several races but was retired when he broke his hock. (we fostered him for a bit but "failed" so he stayed here--ha!!) They're the laziest and easiest dogs I have ever owned! (and naturally stylish as well ;)
