New to Gucci, need advice on FW17 bag

Hi there :wave:,
this is my first time posting to this subforum, so please excuse me for not knowing my way around here.

In March this bag

and I fell in love with it. I love the double flap, the clasps, the pattern, the clear lines...

Now my questions:
Does Gucci "play hard to get" like Hermès?
Will it be easy to obtain this bag?
Or might it be something created only for the runway and never hit the stores?
When will fall items come to the store?
Will I have to preorder? Will I be able to preorder even though I have never been to a Gucci boutique before?
Does anybody know a name of this bag?
How uncomfortable is a bamboo handle? I am still hoping for a shoulder strap...
Any other info that might help me?
Is the treatment at Gucci stores OK?

FYI: I am located in Europe, the German speaking part...

Hmm I wasn't on the lookout in march but don't see it in the site now. I have 2 bamboo handles and they both come with shoulder straps, but it's not uncomfortable on the shoulder either. I would try searching google or taking it to a store to see if a SA can track it down. They can see what's available in other stores. Gucci is not hard to get like Hermes but if something is seasonal and it's sold out you may not get it.

Sorry just saw it said fall. I would definitely go to a store, show them the pic (unless you can find the name ) and ask them to hold one for you.

Lovely bag, reminds me of my (non-Gucci) vintage 1940s croc bag (they've given it 1970s-style locks rather than the '40s). Which goes to show there's nothing better than an old idea with a makeover.

It won't be out yet. Wait for June/July and it should start to come in.

I'm a regular customer at Gucci and H and get wonderful service in both, the games depend more on who you speak to. There is a danger of asking to be on a wait-list with a normal SA who will leave before or won't remember so ask for the Head of Ladies Handbags or the Store Manager and ask them to call you when it arrives (and keep checking anyway, Gucci's pretty busy lately).

I have been researching this bag since it came out in the show and the Gucci store in Houston found it for me with a lot of hard work getting it. They only made one (which was a special order) and the client no longer wanted it. Got it this weekend and it is my first Gucci bag!! It is beautiful!

Bag is from Gucci Linea P line $4,400 USD. I believe this bag comes with a gold chain as the shoulder strap. This is a timeless and classic bag.

I have several Gucci bamboo handle bags. They are not very uncomfortable to carry, but I would not recommend carrying fro long periods of time. It does make slight indentations in the skin, especially if you carry a lot of items in your bag.

Call Gucci online number and ask the status of arrival. Most fall runway bags have been pre-ordered by department stores and are being dispatched between July - November. Gucci stores will be receiving sporadically as well with most arriving in September - October.

Gucci store SAs are very professional and helpful. No lines or waiting lists. Just walk right in, tell them what you want. They will take your information and contact you upon the bag's arrival. That is my experience at least.
