I just picked up a replacement strap for my speedy B 25 at LV today and had my 2 and 4 year old with me so I was rushing around and didn’t open it up until I got home and each clap is different. One piece was sourced in France and one piece was sourced here. What would you do? Or is this typical? One is a yellow gold and one is lighter more cool toned gold. It looks better than my wrinkled strap I had before (I’ll insert a pic) but I paid $415 plus tax and it should be matching IMO. I’m overlooking the fact that it’s matte as it is and my speedy has the older shiny leather

It's kinda sad that they can't match the leather properly. Especially for this amount of money.
I got from them a Keepall strap replacement a few years ago, the clasps were vastly different on its two ends. One had a deep logo, the other one was so shallow it looks laser etched. But that was free, so I didn't complain. Only telling the story, since it gave me the impression that if yours is like this too, it is most probably typical of them to have the manufacturing precision all over the place.

I’m so glad you shared your experience. This is exactly what I was looking for when I posted. I wanted to see if this is common because then it’s not worth me going back and forth and waiting for shipments to compare the metals. But I can’t believe the quality issue. I haven’t had an issue with LV yet even though I know many do.

Selling all then buy new one, sell the bag, sell the new strap, buy new one.
Thank you I know you’re trying to be helpful - maybe my post was confusing. I can just return the new strap to LV - I only picked it up today but before I do that I had a hunch that this is probably something that happens and I’ll probably get another messed up one because of the two part strap. Ugh I’ll probably head to the store this weekend again and maybe try once more.

You are welcome, when comes to luxury designer stuff, it can be difficult to deal with, because it can be costly to do right.

At first I thought that the photo showed the new strap gold color not matching the old strap gold color, but after reading the thread it looks like the two gold colors are on the ends of the same strap 🤯
If I understood that correctly, I'd definitely exchange, it would bother me. Maybe you could ask your SA to order a couple of these straps for you so that you could choose the more perfect one in the boutique?

I think its worth a shot having them order you another to see if it looks any better. I've noticed that the metal color can vary even on the same bag with all its original parts. My damier azur noe bb's eyelets for the lace are a drastically different shade of gold than the rest of the hardware on the bag. This was the only "imperfection" on it though, so I chalked it up to standard LV quality these days sadly...

Thankfully I texted and they called me this morning. They are already ordering a new one and I inquired if they could get shiny leather since my bag is from 2018 but it might still be matte. We will see. She agreed that the metals are drastically different.

Mine came together and had different hardware. I just chose to ignore it, but it definitely happens!
