New passport covers?

Hello everyone,

as I need a new passport and just found out that the new one will have different / smaller measurements than the old one. This is why I am wondering, will LV produce smaller passport holders? Would really appreciate if any of you can give me an intel!

I thought the International Civil Aviation Organization issued a standard that all passports globally is made in one size?

@Redenkeew thank you for your reply.
I thought the same and this is why I am a little confused. It was in the newspaper that our (German) passport was remodeled to make it even safer and that it is smaller than the old one. Starting this month only the new ones are issued. The measurements are not online yet, so I will have to wait for my passport and find out the difference myself. Guess I will have to wait before I purchase a passport cover.
