New packaging

Was given the box and I asked for a travel pouch. SA said it’s either or. And offered to change the packaging to the box with travel pouch after she wrapped up my bracelet… 🤨 settled with box instead. Like many others…for an expensive purchase I don’t understand why it’s not default for it to come with the box + travel pouch. And I told SA I was travelling soon 🙁

When I purchased my x-large perlee RG earrings at the boutique the SA told the gentlemen who was going to box it up to put the earrings into a travel pouch and not give me the oversized box. I was on the fence at that time about what she did and how I was not given the box, nor consulted about what packaging I would want. It was at that time I knew I would decide eventually whether I would use this SA again. The earrings without a proper box in the pouch look so bad - I am disgusted and disappointed in myself that I let this happen - no one to blame but myself.
To me, that’s unacceptable. I don’t know any jewelry store (luxury or otherwise) that doesn’t give a presentation box. A brand like VCA should not allow that to even happen. As if prices are not high enough to cover it! If they are stingy about the travel pouches, offer at a slight cost? But the presentation box should absolutely be the default for any and every single purchase.

It’s still crazy to me that they make you choose. A box is for storage - to store it. A travel pouch is for traveling - to protect the piece while it is being moved. Two totally different purposes. You would think VCA would value their own creations enough to respect the need to preserve and protect their pieces and to encourage their clients to do the same. It’s ridiculous.

I emailed VCA’s client service. They said they stopped producing travel pouches for clients. Also…advised me the travel with the box. WHATTT.

when I went back to the boutique to collect my creation, I asked for an exchange of packaging. I love VCA but not loving this situation! 😫😣😫

All this seems so confusing to me! I am in Canada and just the other month when I got my bracelet, I got the box, travel pouch, cleaning kit (the cloth and also the brush that comes in the green roll). I was (happily) not offered a choice. I think they need to continue with the traditional box with a travel pouch too. Recently, it seems to be all over the place with some getting the older, original style boxes, some only getting the new packaging and then others being offered both.... Does it vary by store/country/district?

I think it must vary by all three, but the SA must play the biggest role (assuming the supply is there, and I think it’s there now).

When I purchased the HP, it was my first time purchasing from this particular SA. I got the larger necklace box, a few large travel pouches and a cleaning cloth.

With that said, the new necklace pouch is quite nice (the ring and bracelet one not so much) and useful as a travel pouch, but one is enough imo lol.

I also think it depends on the SA. I started purchasing a year ago and always received the box and travel pouch and never had to ask for the travel pouch. My SA also cleaned my piece and put it in the "new" packaging that is meant to replace the box. I wore my new purchase out and got the empty box and travel pouch too when I left.

I am a VCA newbie-1st purchase!

Went to VCA store (San Francisco) to collect my Alhambra Guilloche 5 motif YG bracelet but I decided to have the bracelet resized to 15 cm—I was told it will be a 2 week wait which is fine with me.

In the meantime I had an ‘impulse buy’ while in the store and went home with a YG Guilloche pendant :love: (which will pair nicely with my guilloche bracelet when it is resized)

Regarding the packaging at my VCA store (San Francisco) I was given the white ‘eco friendly box’ I read about on this thread, a little pouch for the pendant, box of chocolate, certification paper and Evian water.

(No idea how my bracelet will be packaged when it returns from repair for resizing but I will update when it returns )IMG_2788.jpegIMG_2792.jpeg

That's what I was told on my most recent purchase - one cleaning kit per customer. I got regular boxes and travel pouches for both items I bought that day. Although it is nice to get the presentation boxes, they take up a lot of space and I prefer the travel pouches for my at home storage.

The inconsistency is so confusing. I have at least 3 cleaning kits. One came with each recent purchase and also a repair. In the repair I made the mistake of sending with the original hard box and it came back to me in the travel pouch only. In US

When I have dropped off bracelets for sizing, I was told not to include any boxes or cases as it would be returned to me in a new travel pouch. Mind you, I have only dropped off the bracelets in person, not sent them in.

I just came back with my new 10-motif necklace from Dubai Mall.

Originally when I bought it last week, it came with the new hybrid “eco-friendly” packaging - which I didn’t realise until I got home. I was very unimpressed with this, and messaged my new SA about it. I guess I was a pain about it that he sent it on to HQ and they managed to find an older version for me, and had it exchanged when I went in today to collect it after extending.

I also asked for a travel pouch, and I was lucky enough to get one together with the old envelope-style box after he went to search for one while packing up my new purchase.

Apparently, they are transitioning to just the eco friendly packaging which they feel covers both the box and the travel pouch in one.

They also gave me the new cleaning kit, though I think I prefer the older black ones that I got from my previous purchases, which were the much bigger black cloths as previously mentioned.
