For those of you that have purchased an LD, do you recommend new or preloved? Do you feel at the current price for an ABC LD it matches the quality? Unfortunately, I live far from a Dior boutique and cannot feel and examine the quality. Thank you in advance.

I almost always go for preloved because most bags are like cars - you lose tons of value as soon as you buy them if you buy new. And I have never been one to prize that "brand new" feeling. That said, if the exact specs that I want are not available on the preloved market, I would buy new. And of course, if you buy preloved, do your research and make sure it's from a reputable seller.

I always buy new. I know that I would get a much better deal buying preloved but I’m not confident enough to go that route. (And I actually do like the old zip style on the medium, too).

In a few weeks I’m planning on buying another bag or two from the duty free in Paris Cdg- I guess that’s my only savings. (I, too, don’t have a Dior store in my state). Let’s see how it goes.

But… for all the bags that I have bought within the US, every one was fantastic! I was just in Vegas at the Crystals mall in April and the staff was so sweet and all the merchandise looked impeccable.

Thank you for your feedback! I LOVE that mall and just Vegas for shopping in general!

I’d still try and purchase preloved, they sell at less than the current value but you can find brand new ones where people haven’t gotten on with the style or are too scared to use it, e.g. at beginning of the year I managed to find an ABC Dior only 6 months old, unused, had box, dust bag etc for 60% of the current retail.
I will say the lambskin on my 12 year old medium Lady is much more hard wearing than the 2022 ABC, but that might just be different batches. My older one shows no wear on the leather, while I’ve already scraped the new one somehow (I’m v clumsy!)

Thank you! Yes, I’ve found some in excellent condition via Fashionphile. I’ve purchased bags from them before. Sometimes their bags have a certain perfume/cleaner smell but the condition usually matches the description.

I was looking at preloved first when buying my First Lady Dior but since I wanted the white/latte color, I was concerned that regardless of the condition there would already be some discoloration. I knew that would bother me and I wouldn't enjoy the bag fully as a result so I decided to buy brand new. I think if I were buying a different color I'd be more comfortable with preloved!

Oh yes this makes sense. I’ve never bought a white preloved bag. Clean corner and edge wear would be especially hard to find. How are you getting in w the white LD? Any color transfer and do you reach for the bag often or safe it for special occasions?

Sorry for the hijack but how is your bag holding up? That’s exactly the color that I plan to buy in a couple weeks!

It's not as delicate as I thought and has held up well! I've worn it a few times, all with lighter outfits and I tend to hold it on my arm or hands instead of wearing it crossbody so I can make sure it doesn't rub against anything. I'm definitely more careful with this bag, but no discoloration or any edge wear so far.
