I am new to Coach, having purchased my first 9 months ago and since then acquiring some 30 pieces. I live 10 hours from my nearest Coach store and outlet, although we do have a nearby Dillard's with limited offerings. Most of my purchases are online. I have nearly lost a hangtag from a beloved Dinky but was lucky enough to find it. I tried the tag loop and the additional chain loop methods and didn't like the looks. To quote the old infomercials, I thought "There has to be a better way!" A little background...I am not an engineer, but I am a scientist, and have had to jerry-rig some of my equipment and instruments to keep them operational. Sometimes I can't afford to wait 2-3 days for an equipment engineer to fly out here. So I began thinking about what I could use to secure the chain. See the pics for the chain clasp secured with heat shrink tubing. It is nearly undetectable, and it's not likely to let loose. I'll check it periodically. It can easily be cut off if desired. What do you think?

That's an awesome fix! I just used to squeeze the clasp in the middle a bit with a pair of tiny needle nose pliers so the chain could not possibly come unattached. With the heat shrink method that you do, you have an easier way to remove it if so desired

Great idea! I love this!

My solution is to have some nai jell, apply it on the connector inner place and use the jellnail light to harden it. I bit less noticeable method , but may not as secure as your solution

Perfect! Did you need a heat gun to shrink the wrap or will something like a hair dryer do? I've only seen the opague kind before which would not look nice like this!

I bought an assortment of heat shrink tubing on Amazon. Make sure to find one without adhesive on the inside. Use a size that fits loosely over your clasp and chain. Slide the tubing away so that you can get the clasp closed (that was the hard part. They really should give us a little bit more chain!) Then move the tubing so that it lines up over the clasp, and use your hair dryer to shrink the tubing. The item I purchased on Amazon is Conshine 2:1 Heat Shrink Tubing Clear Wrap Sleeves Assorted Sizes - 124pcs Transparent.

Such a good idea! I always make sure mine are flipped inside the pockets (I have two Rogues) so that they'll fall off into the bag. I would love for them to hang outside like they're meant to! May have to give this a try.
