Hello all purse forum ladies and gents,
My name is Jeff Roberts and I work for Walmart in there Jewelry Purchasing Section (JPS).

I am also a big fan of jewelry so that is why I have signed up for this forum.

Please do not shoot me down for being a Walmart person. I believe total honesty is the best policy. So I am revealing my cards to you in good faith. NO - I am not paid by Walmart to sign up for this forum. I just love Jewelry.

Walmart is probably not the most prestigious name in diamonds. But I do believe we are at least honest and offer good value for money.

I am sure you have all seen the Walmart diamond deals; 1ct solitare for $1888- and 2ct solitare for $4998-
Whilst these certainly are not VS or SI stones they are certainly good diamonds at an amazing price.

Who would have thought you could get a single Solitare 2ct for less than $5000-

Personally I have also built a nice collection of items through ebay. I am a big fan of Cartier, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars, Ebel, Baume & Mercier.

Please feel free to ask me any questions.

At your service - Jeff.

Hi and welcome!

I've seen some cute designs at Walmart, and while I don't knock anyone who has bought diamond jewelry at from Walmart, it's personally not my cup of tea.

My diamond ering is nowhere near 2cts, but I bet it sparkles the boots off of any walmart diamond any day in any lighting!

Hello,
No worries.
At Walmart the diamonds have all focused on bang per buck. SIZE SIZE SIZE.

I am presently trying my best to get Walmart into the COSTCO leaque.

Personally I think I or P is a bit low in the grading..... For 2ct I would personally prefer nothing below SI 1 - However that goes against the price point.

Hopefully in the not too distant future we will have a new range called the "Black Label Line." Specialising in SI 1 & 2 in colors H I J
I am trying to get the special at - 1ct SI 2 J for $2998-

Jeff

Could we see a picture of what you call a good looking diamond. I think its good to have choices but if the quality is obviously bad or worse then the point is sort of lost.

Also I would love to see a proper appraisel done on one of these diamonds. Im pretty sure that you are selling these diamonds for exactly what they are worth.

My husband also sells jewellery and you can basically get a 1 carat diamond for under $500. Now its going to be fugly....but its doable!!!!

The real story is that the price for diamonds is pretty consistent around the world. If you are selling diamonds for a low price, its not bewcause they are a super bargain, its because that is what they are worth due to their grading of quality, color and cut.

I think its great that people have a choice in the market. But they are not buying something cheaper than what it is worth.

At the end of the day, if the buyer is happy to get size for a cheap price, Im not against that. But dont try to pass it off as the bargain of the century.

As an example, when I go out to eat I can get a lavish steak and wine meal for 100 bucks or I can get 50 burgers at Mc Donalds!!!!! And no doubt there are hundreds of options inbetween.

You say where can you get such a `deal` as the quantity you offer for the price.....but thats the wrong question. The question is, are you getting what you want for a fair price??? Because buyers remourse is very painfull especially after the excitment of the `bargain buy` has worn off!!!!
