New LV Papillon Trunk or Preloved Chanel mini?? Which should I pick?

Please help me pick.
By chance I got my hands on The Papillon trunk in Selfridges over the weekend. Should I add this to my collection or get preloved Chanel mini instead. It is raspberry pink with SHW from 2019 collection I think. Please correct me if I am wrong. The differential is not huge as Chanel is preloved. Of course I can’t keep both. What would you choose?

BTW about my collection-
chanel- I have a VERY vintage chanel flap in black from 80s with bijoux chain. Its old battered and beautiful. I have Chanel jumbo in black with big CC in vertical quilt.
LV- Pochette metis, Neonoe, Multipochette Accessories, GO TP26- All in LV monogram- so all my everyday needs are covered

my vote goes to the mini. classic style in a lovely color. and it sounds like you have your LV bases covered.

I vote Chanel. This particular papillon style seems a bit trendy and, thus, easier to get tired of.

I had the papillon in empreinte leather from the by the pool collection, and I didn't like it as much as my mini. Mainly because it sits weirdly/uncomfortably on me and shape wise makes it hard for me to store my things efficiently. And chanel value will go up, so I will keep chanel for now. Its easier to find a cheaper preloved papillon in the future, than to find the same mini at the current price!

Vintage CF in denim/jersey- a bit damaged at top
OR
Preloved Raspberry mini flap from 2018-19

The vintage bag is £1000 cheaper than the mini flap.
Please help me choose which one to get. Thank you.

Good choice in returning the papillon. It is pretty though. I only have one LV reverse PM. I have one bag per designer and the rest of my collection is all chanel . I'm a bit biased as I'm a chanel addict (but I think most of us are on this page lol). The lv papillon style was popular in the early 2000s and lost popularity and trend. I used to see this style around alot back then but now it sits in everyone's closet and the resale value dropped to a few hundred dollars. I'm not one to buy with resell in mind as I've never sold any of my purses but I buy purses that I know I will wear for years and years. The chanel mini will be something you can wear a decade from now whereas the LV papillon might not be. I have chanel bags dating back to 2011 that still wear and it doesn't look old/outdated. It still looks the same as the ones they sell now and in fantastic condition.

Thank you for your precious input. It has been truly helpful. I agree Chanel is just luxurious and beautiful. Currently I have vintage chanel from 90s and 80s. Not sure if I will get a CF in store at full price. So I do hope the mini is still available….if not then will keep looking.

The ones you do have, I know of them and are gorgeous. I totally understand your statement about not getting CF full price from the store. I luckily bought all my CF and chanel bags at the boutique when they were less than $4000 usd (even the jumbo) about 8-10 years ago. I can't get myself to buy new in boutique now for a CF knowing I got my jumbo for $4000, m/l for $3600, mini for $2700 etc. I did get a cocohandle for $4500 this year brand new in store. That was my most expensive chanel purchase to date. Crazy right? Back then I thought those prices were too high as they just increased by $1000 before I purchased them. Life lesson, just buy it because it'll keep going up if you wait.

I think the damage at the top of the Jersey cf will annoy me too much, and I'll be worried that the spot will enlarge/gets hooked onto some other stuff and worsen the condition. So logically I'd go for a cf mini for this!
