Hello TPF!

I'm super new to to the world of designer bags (well, anything). But after landing a pretty cushy job, I find myself with more disposable income and a tragically outmoded wardrobe (I've used the same vintage Dooney and Bourke crossbody and brandless leather briefcase since my junior year of high school.)

That said, I think I'm ready for something that reflects my style better. I've always loved bags from Céline, Chloé, Fendi, Givenchy, and Moschino.

I've also been trying to do my research and I've been able to narrow down a list of priorities: I would like to make use of my hands while on the go so a healthy length shoulder strap is huge, I also love to be able to get to my phone, keys, wallet without too much trouble, I prefer dark interiors, and I'd like something that won't look horrible on my shoulder two years from now.

MY top three at the moment are: Givenchy's Antogonia in shiny calfskin with gold hardware in small, Chloe's Faye Bag in medium and Fendi's 2jours. My budget is $1,600-$2,000! Please let me know what you guys think based off of your own experiences and what you feel has been a bag of great value. Thank you!!

I would try Fashionphile. I believe the 2Jour and the Antigona start at over $2,000 brand new, unless you get the mini version of the handbags. They might still be 2,000 before taxes. I could be wrong.

For that price point for work handbags, have you looked at Mulberry Bayswater?

I love the look of the Givenchy antoogonia but always found it awkward when trying it on. The shoulder strap was not long enough to be comfortable for me. Have you looked into the pandora? It’s my favorite Givenchy style the single handle is awesome you can hold it by the handle, in the medium size you can wear it over the shoulder, and it has a longer strap as well. Their pebbled leather is awesome. The Chloé Faye bag is cute but I’d worry about how the suede would wear. I do have a Chloé Marcie and the pebbled leather on it is also amazing. I do find it a bit heavy for me personally so I don’t use it often. I wish they’d bring back the mini Marcie again because I love having the long shoulder strap to wear cross body and the handles as well. The Fendi 2jour is the most classic style out of the bunch. IMO Moschino bags are too trendy looking and will be something that will look dated or you’ll get bored of.

I agree with others that the Fendi 2Jours is a great choice. It's a classic and functional bag. The classic colors (like black) are rarely on sale though. Unless you go with the petite 2Jours, you are probably looking at over $2k.
