New Gucci Matelasse Small Flap Bag: Rose Beige

I just got said bag today from mytheresa after several weeks of stalking, finally found it online. I am unsure about it due to the following:

there is a slight crease on the right hand side of the gg logo
the body of the bag there is a kind of recess/indent under the lock; inevitable eventually but didn't expect it to come like this
the line of the flap doesn't sit right either?

I was torn between this and the padlock which I saw instore and which was beautifully crafted, although of course the latter is more structured. The marmont small/mini I never actually saw in the flesh but I feel really disappointed

Is this normal for the matelasse due to the leather? Would much appreciate your thoughts. Also, this is my first gucci bag.

Love everything about the bag but that crease would bug me on a brand new bag. I would be asking myself why I would have to be dealing with it. Ask if you can return for a replacement.

It's a beautiful bag but that crease would bother me. I would return!

Thanks for the replies ladies. The only reservation I have about returning is that it was the only one in stock, and its sold out elsewhere. So I am torn atm.

I would return it. My sister owns this bag in black and hers is perfect. The crease would drive me nuts and I agree, It looks crooked or slightly off centered. I would be concerned that this may have been a return/defect. I would be patient and wait for the perfect one to show up.

Contacted myTheresa who claimed the crease as "part of the design" .
Will be sending the bag back, upon receipt they will send me an exchange, ensuring the new bag is in perfect condition (so they say).
*Fingers crossed*...especially when the bag is no longer available online so don't know where they are going to provide me with an exchange .

It's annoying to have to go through the process of sending it back for sure, but I'm glad they didn't say it was "part of the design" and they couldn't do anything for you. In the long run, you will be much happier not looking at the crease. Let us know what the new one looks like when it arrives!! Good luck!!

Gucci marmont. I purchased my black bag and it’s perfect about from a crease on one side. Is this normal, or shall I return?

Mine has deeper creases than that from use (2 years); it'll end up having creasing like that on the sides if you use it. I don't believe a boutique new bag should have any creases.

Thank you. It was from gucci in selfridges it was brand new. Would you keep this or return then? Every other part of the bag is perfect which is frustrating as I do not want to return and end up with one with more flaws on. I have already returned one due to it having a dint across the heart on the back.

It's not like they are hard to come by -- you should return it and buy one you are happy with. Perhaps go select from a few in person, or order direct from Gucci, if that is an option?

Thank you for your advice. I did select from a few, this was the best option they had in Selfridges. Can I see a photo of your creases now? It’s frustrating as the rest of the bag is perfect

Mine is after 2 years -- I never studied it before but it looks like the wrinkles have a tendency to flow upwards and not too much sideways.

Thank you. Your bag appears to have less noticeable creases than mine. Will contact gucci and ask for replacement. Thank you
