New Evelyne TPM - quality issue - Would this bother you?

Hello everyone,

So I got this beautiful Hermes TPM from the boutique a month ago but it appears that the upper part is very wrinkly on all the corners… especially when I compare it to my Gold Evelyne. I have not used it and it sat inside the box.. should I return it to the store even if its few days passed the returning time?

Since the return window has passed, I would argue that returning it is not really an option (especially without going nuclear on your store relationship). Likely if you tried a return, the best they would offer is to send it out to the spa to “fix” it, and that’s if they agree that there is a defect here, which I’m wagering they would not. I would try to rest it between a few solid books for a couple of days to see if the wrinkle will correct itself. Otherwise, I would just enjoy my bag as no one else will ever notice this.

No. I personally wouldn’t risk my relationship going to the store after the return period for something that took me a month to discover. Leather wrinkles. It’s natural. If it were something potentially damaging then yes, I probably would. No two bags will be the same.

Going forward I’d be more meticulous about going over my bag asap if these types of things were to bother me.

Leather is skin and just like our own skin some hides may be softer, or more wrinkly than others.
Therefore no two bags would be totally identical in every pore, line, or veins
This doesn't look like a quality issue to my eyes and therefore I think the SM would consider it unacceptable if you tried to exchange it and be detrimental to your relationship with the store going forward.

i’m dealing with same issue. it drives me crazy, but it’s not worth the hassle of a replacement. i’m looking for a thread of different chain options/accessories for our mini evelynes. the strap look is not for me. i prefer a shorter shoulder chain. anyone?

I echo what's been stated above and would use this as a learning lesson. Now you understand what you are looking for in a bag and can closely examine any future ones before purchasing them.

I have a bad case of not examining what I buy as well (at least at the store)...but tbh I cannot see the wrinkles in your photo, it looks like it's part of the leather texture and looks natural

With that said...
*Going to check my Evelyn now 😬
